Beginning this month, Montgomery County OIC will offer drop-in services for parents with children in Kindergarten to 8th grades. Based on our Camp Xtreme model, we will provide a full day of STEM learning and a safe environment for children while school is out. Montgomery County Opportunities Industrialization Center (Montco OIC) has proudly served the community since 1965. The late Rev. Leon H. Sullivan founded OIC of America in 1964. Fed up with workplace inequality, he established the first OIC in Philadelphia as a job training facility with the philosophy of “We help others help themselves.” Montco OIC was the 2nd of 44 affiliated nationwide that adopted his philosophy, and the OIC movement has been strong ever since. Today, we hold a variety of low-cost programs focused on helping others become more competitive in today’s workforce. To date, Montco OIC has served 60,000 underworked and underprivileged adults in the area.
